By William Davison on September 08, 2012
(Bloomberg Businessweek) -Ethiopia’s government has held peace talks with the Ogaden National Liberation Front, an outlawed ethnic-Somali rebel group, Communications Minister Bereket Simon said.
“It’s a very positive step and we will pursue negotiations up to the last and try to bring all concerned in that area to the constitutional framework,” Bereket said in a phone interview from the capital, Addis Ababa, today.
Proposals to end the conflict in the Ogaden area of Ethiopia’s Somali regional state were agreed during initial talks on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 in Nairobi, the rebel group said in an e-mailed statement today.

This is an indication of how much ONLF is strong. But ONLF must be careful not to be deceived the shrewd Abysinians.
I hope talk would be sincere.the goal for the somali people in Ogaden is the right to have self determination in order to reach independance from the colonial rule.According to the constituton this can be achieved peacefully.Everybody knows we are not Ethiopian,we dont speak amharic. We have our written language. My wish :Talks and self determination wiTh OLFrepresenting more than 40 millions people and fighting for freedom and independace like SLF.After that we can associate and create the confedration of Horn of Africa.
This is a big answer for those who want to talk to Woyyanee with out any meaningful force.Woyyanees are making some trick to divide the ONLF and weaken the alliance of liberation fronts. Any how this is what it takes to bring woyyane to the table not sending condelesence message.
It is waste of time and waste of energy they could have processed there view long time ago .At times no use to discuss, this is divide and rule.
As we used to see,it looks like divide and rule.Where are the other front our brother of struggle OLF ,SLF? But let us see things will come in front of us.Dont forget,we want our soverignty.
We want to live in a country with language everybody can understand,in Ogaden we all speak somali as official language. After one century of Amhar colonial rule in Ogadenia less than 10% can speak that language.
