Meles widow ‘refusing to vacate palace’
October 17, 2012, Nairobi, Kenya (Daily Nation) — The powerful widow of former prime minister Meles Zenawi is reportedly stalling on vacating Ethiopia’s national palace for the country’s new leader and his family.
According to government sources, Mrs Azeb Mesfin has ignored instructions to move to a new residence that would also be accorded full security detail.
The government has given Mrs Azeb and her children the option of three residential villas in Addis Ababa but she is said to have refused to even visit any out of her own security concerns.
Government officials recently wrote a letter requesting her to leave the palace for the new prime minister, Mr Hailemariam Desalegn.
The new leader and his family are currently living in a small residential villa in the western suburb of the capital.
Mr Hailemariam was sworn in last month after having served as interim premier since Mr Meles’ death on August 20. An internal struggle over whether to confirm him into office was said to have had the widow as one of the main players.
Due to the delay in transferring the palace, Mr Hailemariam is forced to stay in office late in the night and head back very early in the morning to avoid being inconvenienced by the busy Addis Ababa street that leads from his current home to his office. He is reportedly also avoiding inconveniencing city residents and uses less security detail than his predecessor.
The government has deployed tight security around his current home but wants him to move to the more guarded palace.
Mrs Azeb is one of the top officials and a former rebel fighter under the Tigrian Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF), one of the four coalition partners of the powerful ruling party, during the 17-year armed struggle against Mengistu Hailemariam’s Marxist regime.
A mother of three, she secured a parliamentary seat in 2005 and was re-elected in 2010.
She also heads the multi-billion dollar ruling party-owned business conglomerate, EFFORT.
Let us wait and see what will happen to this lady like what has happend to The Tunsian leader Bin ali’s wife – her name was laila and she owned 45% of Tunsian wealth in cash and property, She lost the game with her 11 brothers being protected by palace employed 900 000 security police which melted away with the revolution.
Egyptian leader’s Huseni mubarak’s wife(her name is suzane mubarak) also owned about 41 billion US dollars with her husband and two sons being protected by two million security police-they are called poitical police which also melted with the Egyption Tahrir square/freedom squrae revolution.
Let him marry her too
KKKKK, what a stupid woman she is?, she has to move from the National palace as soon as possible. The time is not that long to all tigres leave oromia or accept live as second citizen.
This is only the begning. It will be happening to any body who wishes to have some thing which doesn’t belong to him/her.

LOOK dear Cabsa, in independent Oromia republic we don’t treat anyone as second citizen. The Amharas and Tigrye people who colonized and inflicted heavy losses on our people in life and wealth for the last 130 years should be treated according to post-indeopendece United Nations rules. 1. Every Amhara and Tigryan civil citizen can go back to their native villages freely with the help of international red-cross and our generous support except the war criminals and those who are involved in killing our people and stealing our wealth.2.Those who want to live and work in our land can be registered and given a 2 years vissa every time they apply unless they are involved in any consipiracy or crime. 3. For security reasons,no Amhara and tigray will be employed or work in public or governmental offices including even as cleaners-we better employ pepole from Asia or other African contries.4. No Amhara or tigre will be allowed to be employed in police, security and army field with strict restriction on holding fire power/weapon of any kind like in the Gulf countries or in the west. 5. They can be employed in private sector or house holds (servants like what they are doing in Arab countries0 and treat them with humanity). 6. Under any condition they are alowed to work in hotels and pubs due to their past history of corrupting our people with prostitution which was not known to Oromo people. 7.They have to respect the rule of the land/oromia and after some years allowed to bring their families depending on fully evaluted moral values check up. Criminals and thieves will be deported immeadiately with public expence-we are not going to detaine them wasting money and time in keeping them. 8. They are not allowed to marry an oromo man or women for at least 20 years after independence.
I have the full detailed constituion for post independent oromia on Chapter 8 under the titile “The rules and laws on how to treat amhara and Tigraye in Oromia after independence”. This is fully compatiable with internationl rules in how to treat foreign workers.
AS for Affars, Somalis, Sidamas and kushatic southern people our rules will be very generous. As forother independent neighbours like Eritrea, Sudan (North and South), Kenya and Djoubti special friendly rules may be applied which may not necciate entry or exit vissa and we intiate to create West European type of free union.
We warn all our neibouring states and people who are collaborating against oromo people with Wayane fasict/Terrorist regime. Northern Somalia/Hargessa regime, Yemene, Suddan can pay a price in our future relations unless they stop what they are doing to our refugees in their respective countries. The time may pass. They should know that Eritrea and Southern Sudan got their independence-Why not 50 million Oromo people.
Oromos only post independent democratic parliament will approve or amend this draft constitution which is based on our gadda rules and American constituion.

Azeb refusing to leave the palace is not Oromia’s concern.Our demend is total withdrowal of TPLF from Oromia without any preconditions and to do away with Naftegna genocide system to replace it with Gadaa System /Democrcy in Oromia and freedom for all nationalities occupied by the empire.
