Oromo and Ethiopian Communities held a successful Demonstration in Geneva

The aim of the demonstration was to raise international awareness against the brutal dictatorial regime of Meles Zenawi which is on power for more than 20 years. The demonstrators exposed the massive human rights violation in the Ethiopian empire. Hundreds of demonstrators representing Oromo community, members and supporters of the OLF, members and supporters of Ginbot 7, members of the Ethiopian community in Switzerland, and other political and non political organization. This demonstration is the first of it’s kind here in Switzerland on which different political organizations and community members concerned about the gross human rights violation in Ethiopia came together to make the voice of the voiceless to be heard.
Appeal letters about mass arrest, torture, killings, TPLF’s land grab policy, and harrasment and deportations of refugees from Kenya, Somaliland, Yemen and other countries back to Ethiopia where they face arrest, torture, and even killings were submitted to different UN offices in Geneva (UNHCR, UNHCHR, …) and copies of the appeals were sent to different embassies in Switzerland, and to government offices of Swiss cantonal states.

The demostration held in Geneva shows the great determination of our nation every where to stand for our Idenity. I incredibly, proud of my nation for their voice against the minority Tigray regimes and a more vigilance against the chauvinists too. Yes, as Obbo Fayyis said, Oromos like a Jet ara bombarding from every direction to liberate not only Oromia, but also for the Horn as well.
